Reading:
The Pre-K 1 First Semester of first year Reading Course, is a listen and learn course. The child is not reading but is expected to listen! Yes, the Home Educator reads, and should endeavor the child listens, this is achieved by:
1. Ensuring the child is not crying during the reading time, that means, the first thing first is to get the child to remain calm for the duration of the reading!
2. Ensure the child is not distracted during the reading time, the child should not be sucking or watching any of the video programs during this reading time, the child may be carried, laid down, but to the best of the Home Educator's knowledge/ability, the Child should be awake and not distracted.
The Reading is done from the Little Lad's Alpha-Comprehension Book for Pre-K. Check out the Little Lad's Alpha-Comprehension book here
Music:
Complete Music lesson course for the Pre-K child! This course is a complete Music lesson, of course complete at this age level, this means that it follows the entire rule/structure of music learning. The instrument from which this course is taught is the keyboard (Piano). The child has to be carried by the Home Educator (Mother/Care giver) while the Home school's music instructor teaches the child with the mother (acting) learning on the child's behalf. No worries about whether the child is grasping anything at all, just teach the child in the ways a child at that age may understand, use the mother's hands (fingers) to play whatever notes you would desire the child to play. Have some classic renditions made, improvise, play and sing both with the child's mother, or whoever that is carrying the child!
See the Pre-K Music (Piano) Curriculum.
