Introduction
This handbook is designed to help Kindergarten 2 learners understand early mathematics through simple number stories. Number stories connect mathematics to everyday life and help children see numbers as meaningful and useful.

4 + 1 = 5

3 + 1 = 4
Answer: 4 fish.

Answer: 3 oranges are left.
Example 2
There are 4 birds on a tree. 1 bird flies away. How many birds remain?
4 - 1 = 3
Answer: 3 birds remain.
